Well, I started out with buying one of those pre-built sites from ebay, cost me a good $20.00. (I like to mention i knew NOTHING of adsense when I bout it) and I have to say, its pathetic how crappy they are! www.pay-off-debt.net I have made 3 blogs on investing, and I am amazed on how well they are doing compared to my debt web site(thanks to the advice from this site). I just bought a domain and am making a investing site now that I have learnt a few things. I already have 2 marketing contracts from trading firms ($120.00 per sign up) So, lesson is...NEVER buy a pre-built site, and stick to this FORUM! Thanks everyone for the help! -Kastro
Well, the only thing I'd say at this point is take your lemon and make lemonade. The domain name seems like it might be of some value, nice keyphrase for it. Maybe you could create a new site for there as well and make something of it. I generally notice that for sites which are not sold here.
Kastro How come you only got one? These things are sold in bulk. I also note you have taken the time to add an original header to it (its an adsenseready site by the way). If you bought just one then the seller was probably breaking his terms by selling it on so you could go to ebay and ask for a refund. I hate these things as much as most but surely you can get your $20 back on it somehow??? cynic? me? ..............naaaah
Haha, at least you learned your lesson earlier on, and less expensively... last year, I bought 2 premade adsense sites with a fair amount of content that were supposedly making good money... turns out they actually weren't, and I lost a quite a bit more money doing it.
Yea, I might either sell it or just keep the domain name and make my own site like someone said above. Thanks
Keep the domain hosted, let it sit for a year or so, adding original content about once a month (you can spend 30 minutes a month, can't you?) and by next year you'll be reasonbly high in the SERPs to get decent traffic. You should start seeing actual traffic from the SE's toward the end of this year (as your site ages, the easier it pops up in SERPs). Don't just throw it away. But if you want to, you can give it to me, I'll pay you a fair price.
Yea, I am going to keep it running. Its cheap to run, and I basically have to do NOTHING lol. Its just an eye sore. I only make like 4 or so bucks a day from it. My blogs are doing much better and there FREE! Now I'm just working on my new web page This is the blog it will be based on, http://investingeducation.blogspot.com/ Thanks for all the help guys. -Kastro
Well, I understand that your blogs working out alot better. because it seems like you know what you are talking about and writing the content your self. Good content = traffic traffic = Cash flow Good luck man!
Suggesting a eCPM of almost $25.00? That seems a little high, can anyone give me feedback on this? later, tom
How can you add content to an investing site, assuming you know nothing about investing. Stockcharts.com is offering stock charts for web sites at a very high cost, around 500 per month. Does investing classifieds make sense? (Ok, I know this is not the main topic, only a subtopic)
