Glad that someone above board like you who is building his own private link network to pump up his own sites is here to warn us of a great advertising tool invented by one of the best coders in the world who understands what it is to find true and honest success on the internet and who is willing to openly share his knowledge and tools with the worldwide community.

The problem that the community really has is snakes like you who burn in envy toward Shawn and his work.

Well I'm not on anyones side here but lets just say I didn't join the co-op because I thought those tiny unrelated links at the bottom of someone's web sites would bring me direct traffic. Let's face it why we really are in it ;)

Why are you in it, because you believe some BS about how it takes one to the top of the SERP's

I don't believe anything until I've seen it for myself, but with all the bits of pieces of knoledge that we have about google and other search engines it is worth a shot. At least it is a PR advantage and as someone else stated PR is not as useless as some people make it out to be.

that's like saying "why do you go on dates with girls"?

    well, we want sex.

but there's more to it than that for quite a number of men. You can't second guess everyone.

How stupid is this idea that if you just add the co-op to any page that that page will become #1 in the SERP's

If SEO was that easy everyone that has a page would put it on their pages, get real people

I do not have the co-op on any of my pages yet and I have many # 1 SERP positions in many keywords and I am not being knocked out by guys in the co-op, can you folks get that through your heads and quit spreading hype and paranoia about

slyolddog I have followed this thread in detail and refrained from making any comments...you make a good point, actually. But the point you make, to me, is about ethical ways to help move your website up in rankings.

The truth is there is NO guarantee in ANY tactic or technique you choose to employ. The SEO margin is becoming slimmer and slimmer. If Google has it there way there will be NO SEO http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=12518&highlight=google+patent and they will host every website on the planet.

My point...If it works right now...DO IT :) The brainchild of this fine project is very open with Google and, SO FAR, it's all good.

It's really your choice to poop or get off the pot :D

    Cheers

Homer - you are right. Either do it or don't. But even once you are in the risks can change so it's still worth discussing to know the current state of play.

I just wanted to point out that very likely digits.com got banned after they added some adverts to their site. Whether or not those ads can be compared with this network here is up to each person to decide on their own.

I told you all when this guy first got here that he was attacking this network because he was building his own and he has admitted to doing just that in this thread.

This guy should have been banned with his friend "The Honz" whom VS put on a 10 day ban here on the forum for his crazy comments toward members and the co-op.

Shawn is fair to give this man a voice, but if one came into my house and told me that he thought it was built by stolen materials I would ride his ass out on a buckboard.

This guy is full of it.

Or maybe they sold text links based on PR, in which case, they *should* be banned.

The normal repsonse to selling text links is a "cannot pass on pagerank" penalty (eg Xe.com). I would be surprised.

So it's not conclusive? 40+ some odd posts on an assumption? On a site that was not part of the co-op?

    Slap my fro!

Is there any difference between doing that and only allowing "quality" sites into the coop network? It's pretty much the same thing is it not? You are just bartering pagerank (and anchor text) instead of selling it.

Don't all links have anchor text in them if they are manual links or automated by the co-op software?

Can you tell us how your network is going to be the "thousand points of light" private link network for your own sites and why it is so good

That's why we have include programming. I have already had the gitters about this, and the more I learned about the concept the more I became convinced that this is a worthy program, especially If you have significant weight (weight=currency). That in mind, the concept is very similar to AdWords and AdSense...weight being currency. With no programming intention to boost PR or SERPs

Risk??? Talk to Donald Trump about risk. Slyolddog should know risk and success a very closely related ;)
