no, its nofollow, and hense it is useless surely, and i see many newbes these days who got no idea what they are talking about... for example another, this one: no its not! search engine are not going to value it, what use is it anyway then?
all search engines give similar importance to nofollow tags, and do not count them in their algo. if you are really concerned, email them and ask go and check yahoo or msn, check the links... all are nofollow...
i saw something like this With Google especially, some marketers are scared to link out to other websites because they don’t want their Page Rank to be lowered. On Bing, linking out actually appears to be smiled upon. I 'm not sure abt it correct me if i am worng
No follow links wont give you an PR, but they could still have value for traffic, and they DO get spidered so it could help with indexing.
Wired.com is no follow. It once used to be dofollow though. As far as I remember, the homepage link in profile is still dofollow. So you can take advantage of that. However, since your profile, after being created will not have PR, it won't be of much value.
Yes this blog is no-follow, but the link has weight. Actually this website has millions of visitors and one link can bring you traffic, not only google backlink

Usually they will use nofollow plugin to keep their page rank. From my personal point of view, a backlink from wired.com is not bad even it is nofollow. This site have more than 8 millions backlinks.
