PR8 Homepage link 10x500 usd or 20x 250 usd what is best?

I have a website that has never sold advertisement links before and is PR8. I never had a page like that before and wondering how the market is.

What would to best?
1. Max. 10 links on homepage for 500 usd a month
2. Max. 20 links on homepage for 250 usd a month.
3. Other suggestions on pricing and amount of links

I have seen prices higher than than this but wondering if there sold at all?

Its a technology site (focus on webprogramming) and want only close related links on there in blocks of 3-5 divided over the page.

I would prefer a $500 a month link with 10 outgoing, but am guessing that is the minority report. Seems most here just look at PR/$$ and don't care about much else.

With only 10 outgoing, the site stands a lot better chance of maintaining it's pr, and search rankings, so is obviously better for you in the long run.

Maybe you could list them at $500 with 10 outgoing, but let buyers know in the thread that you may change it to $250 and 20 if they are not selling???

I know 10 outgoing links is better. Especially if the links are in small blocks of 3-4 spread over the page. The page keeps strong without to much spam for the real users.

I am looking for the long run by keeping the links in the same field and hopefully only 10 links. But I do what the marked wants.

I know people just look at PR8 and then never looks the power of it... they just wait till the next PR update and see if it worked.

More votes for 10 links instead of 20?

 

I would prefer 10 links as well, 20 links on PR8 are easier to find then 10. I think you would have a more exclusive product this way.

 

lower the links, the higher the price. it depends on if you think you can find buyers for the $500 price.

Less is more. Definitely have 10 or less outgoing per page.

 

homepage links, yes it is possible you could get 500. but you will have a much easier time selling 250.

are you planning on selling these links yourself or are you going to have someone else do the work for you?

 

Since Google is probably well on its way creating an automated 'paid link' spotter to monitor irrelevant links on a portal. It must involve links that are grouped and have little connection to any paid link service so far. I think I will go for 10 links in a related field. This way offering the best for clients although there harder to sell.

I think I will go the hard way and if it turns to be to difficult switch to 20 links as suggested by Trakker. I have probably two clients that are happy with results on other website so that is 8 to go ;-)

But we will see how it goes... I might end somewhere between 10 and 20 in the end. As always let the market decide.

 

offer in-text links as opposed to a link section and you'll have an easier time doing it.

 

I personally prefer the 500$ alternative, it will help you in the long run

I think everyone prefers the 10 links and I will think about in-text links in the design (thanx Cylon).

But its a challenge to let people pay 500 buck a month... but I'll take the challenge ;-)

 

It's not just about PR, it's about authority and page strength to. I would never pay $500 simply for a PR8 link. I would only ever be prepared to pay that much if:

It had a very low number of outbound link

It had a very high number of backlinks (50k+), including atleast a thousand edu/gov baclinks.

The domain was atleast 5 years old.

And a few other factors.
