Looks like every link is from DP co-op, at least every one I found.

 OK can you point out of of the sites in the top 10 in yahoo that actually have a link to the site, ie go to http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8&fr=sfp&p=linkdomain:www.financefinder.gb.com and then let me know which sites you see that actually have a link back.

The DP coop has been used to get the massive backlink count but none/few of the links are there now, once the owner of the coop account stops pointing the weight then the links will disappear and hence the pr will disappear, in saying that I believe Serpalert is right in saying it's not cloacked/faked pr, if you like a PR8 this is it, but without the massive coop account used on it your not going to survive a pr update.

    lol.

    1) you didn't spell 'Title tag' correctly in your post. C'mon. You know that's funny. :)
    2) If you think spelling finance incorrectly isn't a good strategy, you're missing the boat! There's a ton of excellent traffic on spelling variations.

I spent 10 minutes or so and this is what I found. There is more but I just wanted to play. I would love to own a PR8 that is real, just like the rest of us.

If you look at the cache of google you will find lots of pages from long ago. These are generated pages which gave the site 100's of thousands of internal pages. This is a PR tactic as you all know. Now you can do one of many things from this point to make high PR. One is you take and do a redirect on everypage back to the home page, this was likely done at some time in the past because now all those pages are 404'd.

The other thing is the sites co-op weight. Man this thing had more co-op than the co-op itself and it shows by the links. Easily could have most of its PR from that alone a its previous indexed page count.

There are a few other techniques that have been applied, but I can tell you one thing, this site was built for a purpose. More than likely promotion of another site/s in the past or to prove a point among some BH's.

I have to give you credit, there was a lot of thought and some work put into the idea, but you gained greatly from it. I wouldn't touch it for nothing though I love creative thinkers.

how can you tell the sites co-op weight?
and when you say it shows by the links do you mean just the number of links?

(just trying to learn something here)

Do a link command on Yahoo and go to some of the sites and figure out where their links are, you can easily tell that they are co-op links, much like Google can. Hit refresh a few times and maybe this site will show up.

    http://gb.com

Good question, how can you sell a sub-domain? Is gb.com included in the sale?

    Thank you

.gb.com is a domain extension just like .co.uk, .com etc, but it's just not as well known.

Trying to remember the story - can;t be bothered to do a google. I think gb.com was a company who in the early days of the internet sold lots of subdomains to companies giving the impression that it was the UK domain extension. I understand now it is really one, but I guess someone still owns the "gb.com".

I love all the assumptions people are making. I've heard of drupal, I think I know what it is. But I certainly have never used it.
