Hello all, I was just wondering if there is some sort of weight refernce chart as to let's say........ would a PR7 link be the same as... 50 PR0 links? Follow me here? Thanks for your input. Well Wishes, Adrian
I think a bunch of PR0 will help, but to match a PR7, it will not be just 50. I have no exact number, but I think even 500 PR0s cannot match a PR7. Just my opinion based on my observation.
Yes I do know that any valuable links counts and who knows... that PR0 could turn into a 7. Wow 500? I didn't imagine it to be that high. Good to know. Cheers
"a PR7 link be the same as... 50 PR0 links" No, IMO, to your site PR ,a PR7 link is more important than 100 PR3 links
Nice question. And the answers are also interesting ones. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Will have to keep this thing in mind.
So I am safe to assume that if you had about 20 - 30 PR7 links to your site, you would off to a great start (I know how hard this is to get - no worries) I am trying to gauge how to valuably outlink my competitors...... here are their links for example........ Competitor: ----------- PR0 -- 698 PR1 -- 64 PR2 -- 136 PR3 -- 154 PR4 -- 113 PR5 -- 55 PR6 -- 13 PR7 -- 1 PR8 -- 1 PR9 -- 0 PR10 -- 0 Using the knowledge from above..... a PR7 link would coun for about 100 PR3 links..........I would also need a few more PR7 and maybe a few PR8.... I tried wikipedia but it keeps getting deleted because I sell a product. Boo-figures. I thought I had it made with link building for a second! :0)
My theory (which I can't backup - just a gut feeling from experience) is that there's a ceiling on your PR related to that of the sites that link to you - that regardless of the number of PR0 sites you'll never get into the higher reaches (PR5+) without links from higher ranking sites. (Wouldn't it be a shame if we knew how PR was derived and had to stop guessing??) bg
Here's something you might find useful : http://www.kenkai.com/google-pagerank-table.htm It doesn't consider some factors like the number of outgoing links, but just to get you some hints, it's pretty ok.
The number of links on a PR7 or any high PR page also plays a role on how much of the PR is actually distributed to your site.
I've attached an excel sheet with info about link PR and you own sites PR. It basically says how many pages of a certain PR you would need to link to in order to achieve a higher PR for your own site. Cant's remember where I found this but its been quite useful. Hope this is helpful
I would say it totally depends on your industry. For example for "web hosting" to get a pr 7 you would need 1000s of back links. Then "electronic circuits" you would need say 200..
