Im thinking about submitting 1 or 2 of my sites to a pr7 paid directory, but before i do i wanted to know if doing this will make a huge diffrence to my sites or will it just crank up there pr on the next update ? in other words is it worth doing or not ?

If Directory is PR7 or PR1 it will make difference if you submit to quality ones and quite a few one, it will help you gain PR as well but most importantly will help you rank well in search engines.

    Best of luck.

    - Depends what PR the page your link will be on. Ie. Homepage may well be PR7, whereas category pages could only be PR1. Or are you meaning a footer link/sitewide link?

    - Depends how much traffic the directory gets to push more traffic to your site.

    - All directory listings help your site to a certain extent - some more than others. At the end of the day, as has been said all over DP, directory listings are for backlinks, not SEO.

Do what you think is right - and lastly, is ROI worth it?

One word of caution, if the directory is a new site on an old domain, it may not retain it's status on the next update.

I would also carefully evaluate the chance that Google may download this site's PR at a later date even if the PR has truly been earned or paid for by the directory.

Since you did not mention the name of the directory (which I am glad that you didn't), it keeps personal relationships and the site owner's reputation out of this discussion.

Finally, ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish. If the goal is to pump up your site's PR, buying links on high PR sites is certainly one way to go; though Google does frown upon that. If the goal is to rise in the SERPs and gain traffic, evaluate the directory on it's overall merits rather than simply what PR the homepage may have.
