I have a handful of backlinks that are on a PR7 site, but I think that the PR7 pages are archived now. Do the backlinks on these pages get me any PR juice?
If the individual pages that your links are on are PR7, then definitely yes. In any case, they certainly do more help than not having them!
if the site is related in question of subject and the link is natural . I think that it can give ann effect to your PR
a handful of PR7 backlinks should make you PR5or PR6 alone. I don't see what is your problem with this ?
As far as the pages are indexed in Google it's good. Your PR and SERP will improve a lot, especially if the links are from sites related to your niche.
If your archived pages are crawlable and have PR (PR pages must has to be crawlable, otherwise there should not be any PR) then you will get link and PR juice for sure.
I am assuming you are talking about do-follow PR7 links right? because if its no-follow then you arent getting the juice...
Thank you vagabond...it was the archived part that I was concerned about. The google toolbar shows the page as a pr7, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything I guess. Either way, I guess it can't hurt. I did see my SERPS increase rather quickly recently for a few sites that are linked on those pr7 pages, so who knows. Obviously, you didn't read the whole question, because the answer isn't necessarily yes!
What if the link is PR7 or higher but it is not related to your subject area? People keep saying it improves your PR. But how much help in terms of SERP? Our ultimate goal is to get our page in Page 1 in order to get more traffic. NOt to get a high PR.
It is not related with your site and that page is really get spammed but you will get the juice because it is not nofollow but i am not quite sure about SERPs
Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't SERP a combination of all other factors such as PR, on-page optimization, link building, etc? So it may help indirectly. How much? I don't know. Can anyone name any sites with those high PR links so that we can evaluate the impact?
