How do you manage to seperate the 2 in your database? and im not sure what would make a paying member here more important than a non DP member.

The way things are setup with phpld im not sure how you would do what your saying you do.

After some one add site from DP and post it in my thread as i promised i will make them permanent so i make the expiry date to 2020 its makes it 12 years.

Please guide which one will work good for me ?
Yearly for rest of the clients or permanent to all, cancel subscriptions made by others and make every one Permanent except Featured links ?

12 years it doesn't mean permanent, does it?

I would also say...this thread has been started for advertising purpose and should be moved to "Announcements" section

Can you please explain if it will do any better and more people will submit or what other purpose.
    Thanks for your kind reply.

I never said i will remove them after 12 years, but will continue to update it.

And this is not for advertising purpose i spend hundreds of $'s advertising my directory on directory critic, Dp signature links, adwords so this is not advertesment, i am asking senior members to guide me which listings works good and why ?

Yearly fees are the way to go IMO.

If you make $2000 this month, just remember you will earn this + more in november 2008. Yearly fees allow you to re-review the sites in 1 years time to keep your directory clean of spam/dead sites.

    I'll second that.

Besides, upon sale you will get a much better price for your site if the listings inside are not lifetime. It makes the owner calculate how much profit would he make in a year if he would buy your site.

Mikey you should know as well as I know and most of the directory owners knows as well that in order to have yearly fees the directory you run should be really good, an oustanding resource otherways you won't get any submissions. Just having an unique template and a few mods is not enough anymore...Personally I don't see many directories to worth yearly fees...
The best thing to do is to have the regular listings permanent and the featured ones yearly submissions at least until your directory proves that it is a high quality resource and deserves the yearly fees, but obviously this is only my opinion...

Im well aware of this and totally agree. Look at www.authoritydirectory.com

listed sites, articles. Yearly fees which are incredibly cheap. well worth it, IMO. Your thoughts?

I am considering going permanent actually because I wonder how realistic it is to charge annually for standard links

Phpld automates the conversion of featured links to standard links, some how I feel thats the way to go

plus i see some folk wh really should know doing things that way

I told Bruce through email that AuthorityDirectory.com is one of the best directories on the market at the moment and I really mean it. Unfortunately this is only one of the fewest examples...my site was indexed within 4 hours from submission, true or not Bruce? :)

mine too. i think the latest featured links bit on the homepage helped a lot:)

If setting yearly prices, its best to keep them low. Otherwise it could hurt you a lot.

its kind of a mixed replies, cant decide which way to go,

What if i have both, Permanent Listings as well as Yearly. (I know there is a mod there but not sure where)

What should be Prices for my directory:
    1: Featured Yearly Submission
    2: Featured Permanent Submission
    3: Regular Yearly Submission
    4: Regular Permanent Submission

I know Alive has something similar. I think this is the best way to do it...
Your submitters will decide which kind of review it is better for them...
