Gents - I have a PR6 site (started in April) that is not ranking at all for any terms. Any ideas of what the issue might be?

    Find your backlinks:
    siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com
Then see what anchor text they used. You will probably rank well for that text.

PR is not a key to get rank high, Check your LinkBuilding Stats.

well, I was under the impression that if the site was in the sandbox, Google wouldn't give it a PR.

I would first check and see if the site is listed in the google directory. You can type the following at the google search prompt:

    site:www.domain.com

Then if it does show your site then you probably are not in the sandbox. There can be many other reasons for you not seeing your site.

I thought Google Dir only says anything if you're listed in DMOZ, not about being sandboxed or not..
Like the others said 'high PR isn't the key to rank high' you should work on you're anchor-text

    Hi,
It might be bcos of google's changing algorithm, which affected some very good ranking of mine as well. But as everyone said, Back links and anchor text are very important for good ranking.
