PR6 link - will my ranking now improve?

I got a PR6 link 3 days ago. Is this likely to improve my ranking and if so, how long does it usually take? Do you have to wait 3 months or so until a PR update? Or do they do this stuff daily nowadays and its just a question of waiting until they get around to your site?

The update is almost 2 months late. Though your ranking should increase, don't count on that happening anytime soon.

 

I don't know if I'm confusing PR toolbar updates with ranking updates. Do the rankings increase daily or do they all come in one go?

 

I think you're confusing it. Page Ranking and SE Ranking is different.
PR gets updated every 3 months but SE rankings get updated daily, even shorter.
This thread could end up number one for "ranking improve" or something within a minute.

 

Ahh so your reference to a late update is for the PR on the toolbar, yes? As for my ranking increase, my PR is currently 4. Do you think a link from a PR6 page is likely to boost me to a PR5? And if so, is it likely to happen inside a month?

 

It will help increase your PR but like I said, don't count on that happening anytime soon. The update is almost 2 months late. Maybe they'll update by the next update time but don't hold your breath.

 

If you just did it than NO, it will not have a chance of doing anything until the Goog Q4 update but it will help with your keyword targets in all of the engines!!

in my opinion, google will wait nearly 3 months.

a backlink will effect your serp after 3 months on google

 

If and when the update comes, it should help.

 

Be careful when buying links, google is very twitchy with serps and "paid" links at the moment

 

So a Yahoo paid submission is considered dodgy?

 

If you are talking about the Yahoo directory, it is Excellent to be in!! That would definately help you but is a little pricey!!

It could help Your serps (ranking for a spesific keyword / phrase) within a day or two if You got the link on the right site, and included the keyword(s) You want to rank for in the link.

 

PR doesn't have to do with your SERP it's the quality of links and the content of the site that affect your SERP.

I think PR usually update PR every 3 to 4 months.

 

Just wait and this will come. For now, no one knows when it will take effect to your site.

 

It's a matter of time, and no body knows when it's gonna help you rank higher in the serps except for google, just give it more time.
