PR6 geocities domain - what a waste

I came across a website that is a PR6. Only problem is it is on a free hosting of geocities and has the geocities subdomain also, no actual domain name. If I'm lucky enough to get the owner to sell me the content. Is there any way to transfer that PR from the geocities subdomain to a new domain? Will a 301 redirect work in this case?

In the short term that should work I guess but only buy it for content not the PR.
You won't own that space so don't pay for it and use that in any negotiations, so at best you can do a 301 and benefit and at worst pay a fair price for the content.

Does geocities even allow 301's? I think the best you could do is set up a redirect via an html page.
