Can you see why the400links.com would have a PR of 6? It's not old, doesn't have much in terms of content or backlinks.

    Any ideas?

I see about 1400 backlinks on Yahoo site explorer, including quite a few PR6 backlinks and at least one PR7 backlink.

It's a known fact that Google doesn't show the latest backlink data.

Never use google to analyse links to a site you don't own. Yahoo site-explorer is the only way to do that. You can use google webmaster tools to find out who links to your own sites, but the google link: command gives only a fraction of the actual links to a site.

Pagerank is solely based upon links.

Age & content don't have anything to do with it.

Age & content - but especially content! - DO have a huge bearing upon the search rankings (the order sites are listed for a particular search) but that's a completely different thing than Pagerank.

    guys,

after looking at backlinks to that site, its very clear that its all paid links or sponsored links.

Most of his backlinks coming from [www.mishobonsai.com.] and some other websites, anyone noticed the footer on those websites? Sponsored listings.

It could be a blank page, PR has nothing to do with content, just get links and you will have PR.
