Pr5 - PC and Technology Site with lots of Unique Content

Hey everyone,

This is my first site that I am listing here for sale. I may have a few more very soon as I am in need of some money pretty quickly.

As you read this ad, you will find no URL. I have provided a nice description along with stats. Site History: This site was started back in 2001 by a guy I know. I worked with him on the site: both coding and advertising. This last year he fell on some hard times and needed some money so I purchased the site from him for right around the amount listed below. I am in need of money so I am forced to sell it.

Over the last year, the site was not updated very often. Anyone that can type can update this site with custom content. The site is built around NePHP and vBulletin and features a WYSIWYG editor. Its really a very clean, easy to use, and secure package.

The site is a personal computer (PC) and all around technology site.

Income-
Believe it or not, but this site was never used to make money by the previous owner. I recently threw some Adsense ads in there just to see what it could do. It produced $97 from March 1st till April 15th showing about 153k impressions and receiving just over 500 clicks. Adsense search brought in just under $10 with 175 searches and 37 clicks. Again, keep in mind…. These ads were just thrown in there and are not showing on every page. There are no ads integrated into the forum at this point.

Traffic Stats-
The site was moved to a new server in March of 2007 so I don’t have the original stats. I do have a webalizer backup of the previous stats if I can figure out how to display them. I can say that in March of 2006 the site received 1.5 Million page views! You will see that traffic has dropped as nothing new has been added.

Automated domain name appraisals are a toy at best. At worst, they mislead sellers. Can you tell us what factors you're basing your minimum offer on? I see revenues in the $60-70/month range, and while revenue is certainly not the only consideration, you're looking for at least 80x revenue.

 

I understand that the appraisals are not accurate...

I asked everyone to PM me any questions or comments. I guess you failed to read that part. If you were really into business you would know that revenue is not all that matters. Companies are bought every day that have little to no revenue... If you feel that my price is unreasonable, you don't have to visit this thread again. There are plenty of $25 proxy sites out there for you.

The minimum price is what I feel the site is worth.... content, licenses, domain, members, etc.

I agreed with FarmerOak .... you would not even get closed 1xx months (not to mention 8xx months), but if you want to continue your dream you can do so .... no harm

 

Another guy that can't read. Since it is such a dream, I do have 2 offers over $5k. At this point, I will probably just sell to the first person that comes up with a deposit.

I will ask everyone once more, if you think I am crazy or the site isn't worth $10 .... GO ELSE WHERE!

Why not just selling links. PR5 home page would cost $10 a month. 20links*10=$200 a month easy profit which makes $2.4k a year. Correct?

 

I could do that. Honestly, I don't have the time right now. I have another site which is pretty big and requires all of my free time and attention. If no one comes up with the money then I will keep it and develop it further.

Right now, I have had multiple offers via PM in the $5500-$6000 range. If anyone else is interested, please PM me soon. I may just accept the next good offer.
