I didn't lie to the buyers. They were do follow until about 2 hours ago, but I received this night a very troubling article on mail from Seomoz regarding changes Google is making. I was about to post it here. Take a read here : http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-h...-and-an-example-from-the-field-of-real-estate Basically it says that everybody who sells links on their website with the sole purpose of helping other websites improve their search engine ranking gets banned from the search engine. This is not a joke. You may read about it here also : http://www.davidairey.com/google-search-ranking-penalty-david-airey/ as well on the Google website : http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66736 Just to make things clear you may check out a Google cached version of the blog : http://209.85.129.104/search?q=cach...blog/+crazyleafdesign+blog&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1 Check out the code. You will see it's do follow. And just in case the cached version gets recached by tomorrow here's a screenshot. Anyway for the buyers ... the blog does have an 81326 Alexa rank with 20000 uniques / month and about 30000 page views and you'll be getting quite a few visitors from it. Just so nobody feel "scammed" in any way I'm giving to all I sold links to a FREE featured listing on CrazyLeaf Web Directory and zaBox Web Directory. So from now on I'm selling the same links with nofollow, so the only benefit will be the traffic it brings you on your website. I am also selling 160x140px banners with 30$ / month. 7 spots are available.
I already know about Google's policy, that isn't new news. But either way, these people expected a permanent do follow link from you when they purchased and now they aren't getting that, which is unfair. Also, you still sold the links whether or not they are do follow. If you continue to sell links you will still get penalized if you get caught. If you don't want to remove the nofollow then i suggest you contact those who bought the icons and notify them and give them a chance to get a refund.
Dude what you don't get is that Google doesn't own my website. I can sell advertising to anyone I choose as long as I respect the Google TOS, which I am at this moment.
