pr4 link, but bad anchor text?

Well I managed to get a pr4 link on someones blog that is on the same subject as mine, however the link is using the anchor text "granturismo5.us" instead of my keyword, "gran turismo 5". Is this link completely useless now or will i still rank better for "gran turismo 5" ? My current ranking is #12

I think it was just as wasted post / comment. The anchor text needs to be exactly what you need it to be. Can you edit it?

I'd ask whoever posted it to edit it for you, but it's certainly not wasted in the least. You're fortunate that your domain and your target keyword phrase are exactly the same (I'm sure not by coincidence) so the link will only be slightly more valuable as "Gran Tourismo 5" than "grantourismo5"

I did a link exchange so it wasnt a comment or in a post, its in the sidebar of their website. I sent them an email asking if they would change it for me, hopefully they do. I just hate to have a free pr4 link that has bad anchor text.

When I search for Google for OCCULT FORUM, occultforums.com comes top in the serp as occultforums.com my site is getting the second slot for occultcorpus.com which shows up like occultcorpus.com so on some level the missing spaces are likely not as bad as you think as google seemingly can read the keywords within a compound word.

    See for yourself: http://www.google.com/search?q=occu...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I wouldn't sweat it too much. You have a strong domain name, you obviously know something about SEO, and I'm not sure, but I'm guessing Grand Tourismo 5 is a keyword you can easily crack the top 10 for.

Just a thought: I would try to find more one-way links. Reciprocal linking doesn't really work well, in my experience.

A link is a link. Anchor text matters, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather have a PR4 link with my domain versus no link at all. :) Besides, a little variety keeps things looking organic and not staged.

You are honestly over thinking it take the PR4 link make sure there are "no follow tags" on it and call it a day...
like Alpha 42 said keeping it mixed up makes it look a lot more organic and less likely to get penalized for staging links.
    "Just my 2 cents"

thanks guys i guess its not that big of a deal. I have been working on ranking in the top 10 for a couple months now with my blog, and moved from 60 something to 12. Its not that competitive so i dont have that great of a result, but its been fun learning about seo and how to move up ranks, so i am satisfied with 12 so far lol.
