i don t mean to sound dim but what is the point of a directory from an owners point of view ie whats to gain apart from links and say google ads ?
can someone shed some light on this as i may be interested in buying one.

 

Well, i have directories on which i sell featured links worth atleast $50 per month(average), plus theres always adsense or other contextual advertisers revenue, you can easily make $75 - $100 from a directory per month if worked on properly.

 

sounds interesting but im guessing that the directory must have at least a 4/5 pr to sell featured links?

 

It depends. For general directory probably because from what I understand people buy links for the sake of pageranks. For niche directory, if there are traffic then it is buying a link for the target audience.
