PR4 arcade site with fantastic CTR - $10 start!

Solid PR4 (been through a couple of updates), and the domain has been registered since June 2005 (can't say for sure about the site, but I think it's been online for a year or so).

SE traffic isn't great (low xx visits per day), but it is #1 on Google for "Amusing Games" (not a massive OVT, but it does bring a steady flow of visitors).

Some traffic from moregamers, arcadebanners and gamerflow. The massive spike in traffic (214) came from a MoreGamers bonus.

The rest comes from AdBrite purchases. I have spent about $12 on Adbrite, apart from the high cost one mentioned below (which is a waste of time, but ah well). I currently have two campaigns running, one that cost $28 for the week (but isn't yeilding the results I hoped for). The other is very cheap (a few dollars per month) and generates enough clicks that each one costs me less than a cent. This campaign has almost a month to run and I will of course share the details with the buyer. A few more of those, or a nice link on a high traffic site, would do wonders for this.

I have posted a few bulletins on MySpace using my own account, but didn't sustain any bulletins. I also had a link on the same MySpace profile which brings a little traffic.

I did also experiment with Adwords right at the beginning, spending about $10.

So I've spent $22 on traffic for the site ($50 if you count the waste of space Adbrite campaign mentioned above).
(I'll be honest here ... I have no clue how to drive traffic to such a site. I am guessing that link exchanges (I have done a few) will be the best course of action. Or someone that can SEO the site may bring more from SEs. This is one of the reasons I am selling the site!)


Benefits
- Games aren't hosted on your server, so resource usage is low
- CTR is great (obviously won't reveal the exact figure, but it's double figures ...)
- Other arcade owners add content for you! I haven't really pushed people to add their games, other than having the link in my signature, but you get a good few per week do so.
- The site has a really nice, simple, CMS for accepting or refusing links submitted.

- It has includes for the left and right columns, and a template for the main section. So you would only have to update a few files with your adsense codes.

Content
The site did have approaching 500 games linked, but lots of them were poor quality and/or had porn content (or advertised porn at least). So I deleted many, down to about 150 I think. The current total is 228 games.

As mentioned, all games are hosted elsewhere, so this really is a handsoff money making machine (if you can drive traffic to it).

Site design and header is unique.

Revenue
Apart from adnense, I do have a couple of CJ banners on the site, but neither has yeilded any revenue.

Adsense for the period Aug16 to Oct2 is $40. So you could look at it like I have made a $10 loss (damn, only just realised that). But that's the fault of my tinkering and experimenting with Adbrite.

Is the CMS custom?
Would it be possible to add descriptions to the games?

 

I believe it is custom, yes. The person I purchased the site from wasn't 100% sure either, but it looks like it is. If the CMS is used on another site, it will be a completely different design. Or if purchased at BIN, I can give the buyer resell rights to it - otherwise not.

I guess you would have to code the game description into it, so I can't say either way for sure. I'm pretty clueless about code =0)
