Selling PR4, Alexa 280k Authority TAX website, online since 2005

TaxForum.us is the most popular U.S. tax forum on the internet. It is #1 ranked for "tax forum" keyword over many-many years in all major search-engines (Google, Bing). People recommend their friends and colleagues to join TaxForum.us when they have tax questions, therefore site is growing organically thanks to search engines and the word of mouth. One tax season I actually heard my co-workers talking about TaxForum.us (though I kept it secret that I was the owner)



I started the site in late 2005 and it knew nothing but ORGANIC growth ever since. I did not spend a dime on marketing or advertising ever. The site began growing more rapidly within the last 3 years. I guess the snowball effect is taking place. The popularity of the site is expected to grow over the years.



Community: the website has a strong community of tax knowledgeable professionals who contribute on a daily-basis helping others with their tax questions. I am very grateful to them.



Revenues:

Being a tax resource, traffic and revenues of TaxForum.us are highly seasonal with the peaks during the tax season and very sluggish the rest of the year. Therefore, about 80% of the yearly revenue happens during the US tax season (approx Jan, 10 - April, 15)



There are 2 major sources of ad revenue: AdSense and TurboTax affiliate marketing. I provided the links to all revenues screenshots below.



The best thing about TaxForum.us that it requires minimum amount of work. I spend about 1 hour per month. My only tasks right now are removing spammers. But due to SpamBuster and One-touch-spammer-delete vBulletin plugins the spammers are extremely rare and dealing with them is very easy.



I think that over the years I sold over $3000 worth of banner ads at the site, though I did not try hard to find advertisers (posted a few times on the webmaster forums), most of the times advertisers contacted me first, I did not contact them.
