I've stared a blog in late November, wrote often at first, then was not able to update then just was busy. I've registered address in several places but my program shows only 29 backlinks. Well, I barely promote this blog at all - traffic is also poor. In January I returned home and figured out PR is 3. Does it mean a significant change in Google algo? http://web-odonata.blogspot.com
>> was toolbar PR update, which takes place approx every 3-4 months. PR3 is quite easy to get, often 20-50 links are enough well, if fact our new corprate web-site has about 600 backlinks, most from PR 6, thematic, and soon will be 6 month with zero PR
I have found that building links fast will place the site into some type of holding pattern on PR. I have seen many times where it will take a few PR updates before the PR registers. Google is most likely seeing of the links are place via spam and get removed.
