I know PR is all about backlinks and you have to have alot quality backlinks to have higher pr number.

I search backlink checker on google, adn tried a few backlink checkers, result I got back is I have no backlinks.

My site already PR3, and no backlinks???? is it possible.

http://www.iwebtool.com/backlink_checker, this is the one checker I use.

another question is If i post my link on some popular blogs , I mean in the comment, or link in the forum signature, does it help to push my pr number up?

one more question: exactly what is quality backlinks? link in the sidebar of a popular blog better than link in the user's comments , or they are the same.

No, it's not possible. The tools don't show all your links, as Google doesn't publish these, but they tend to give at least some.

Most blogs nofollow the links in their comments, so that won't help you at all. With a few exceptions, like that one. Sig links here won't help your PR much, but can give it a slight boost. The kind that really help are the ones you can't just create yourself.

Google backlinks update every 3-4 months when PR updating.

You may try yahoo site explorer for your back links. ;)

use yahoo to check with linkdomain:yoursite
yes sigs and even no follow links have effect in google , even is it just a little .
also things like traffic alexa rank and page age count for PR so maybe you have got alot of those things ?

    1) You put your link in signature.
    2) You get PR3
    3) You unknowingly remove it from your sig
    4) It'll show PR3 till next PR update.

    As simple as that

For accuracy, use Yahoo. For other details use www.dnscoop.com

Now what so coincidence... Similar things happen to me.
At first my site was just a blog, PR0, no backlinks, then I converted it to affiliate store with thousand pages.. Without backlink, the site become PR3!!!

If you use on Google link:yourdomain.com and it displays no backlinks it is because Google don't display all your backlinks it displays only some. It is their algorithm...

Don't rely on tools 'coz some of them don't give the results accurately wait for Google to display your links...:) You can check your backlinks on Yahoo by using the link:yourdomain.com operator..... Yahoo display all backlinks you have....
