PR3 site but very little traffic?

Hello DP'ers,

I have a site that has a PageRank 3 for the homepage (it's an ecommerce site). My blog on the same site has a PR2. However, I'm receiving hardly any traffic (my Alexa ranking is practically non-existent). Shouldn't the pagerank allow me to come up toward the top on Google's search engine and thus, more traffic?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

 

i think u must do more work on the seo and maybe adding some more unique and good contents

 

So you are seeing page rank,alexa score doesn't make any sense.Now choose some appropriate keywords for your site,build backlinks for those keywords-Get the first page of Google and see the flood of organic traffic.

 

What I don't understand is I thought pagerank was a function of good SEO?

 

Traffic has nothing to do with PR.

 

PR is more related to the quality of backlinks you have. The higher the PR, the better the backlinks.

If you are looking at getting traffic via google searches, have you looked into your google search rankings for your keywords? This is where I would focus to begin with.

 

my site is PR4 and very very less traffic

 

First of it u optimized the website according to google and then appropriate meta tag and then after take quality and relevant backlinks from best PR sites. Submit 2 articles per week of targeted keywords and then after done Social sharing the link. Definitely u got the keyword ranking and visits.

 

if you have installed Google analytic, it should give answers to all your questions, they keyword which drive traffic to your site and the post which gets maximum number of visits.

 

High Page Rank doesn't necessarily mean high traffic. You must work on your websites to make it show on the SERP with the right key phrase(s)

 

Yeah, it's true...You need do some SEO and Backlink...

 

High PR not equal with high traffic, I agree, but if your high PR website is less on traffic you will be lost your high PR

 

It doesn't make sense at all... You mean Google will reduce PR coz the site has less traffic...Never heard this theory before

 

It's been a PR3 site for some time so I'm not sure that I will loose ranking without traffic. It seems to defy logic that it is high PR but not a whole lot of traffic. To me, PR means Google basically trusts the site and is, in a way, vouching for it. As such, seems that it will move it up on the search page and thus, more traffic. It just doesn't seem to be working in this case.

 

yes pr 3 is for very little traffic

That is normal, a good way to boost your traffic is by trading traffic

 

Interesting..One blog everyday for how long? It's a Magento site, but I have a wordpress blog installed on it.

 

A website can get a PR0 and makes a lot of traffic/money
A website can get a PR8 and makes no traffic/money

My 2 cents....

 

PR has nothing to do with the money, it's just a ranking that every one is obsessed about. PR is important to paid blog posting and link building.

 

Increase your link backs with other related sites, just find out the link sellers or linkbuilders to get backlink to improve your traffic.
