1 and 2 i dont think you actually need any links just a decent amount of text, 3 you require a few links but nothing that you cant get from sig's to get higher you need to put a bit of effort but only an hour if that
I would agree with everyone else. PR3/PR4 is quite easily achieved. PR5 is also achievable with some hard work and effort, then it gets quite tough indeed. My Photography site got a PR5 (Without buying paid links) within 3 months of being set-up. It was a lot of hard work and it's been PR5 since then for more than one year. I am sure the PR is somewhere between PR5 and PR6 and I dream of having PR6 some day! A PR3 is still quite good for your first update. I would suggest the following to get your PR up there: 1. Submit to as many directories as you can find. (Start with the ones in my signature and this one: www.onedir.biz) 2. Go to Google and search for the keyword that you are targetting. Ex: if you sell shoes, search for "red shoes", "blue shoes", "cheap shoes" etc. Then, go the websites in the top 10 results and see who is linking to them (By doing a simple "link:www.competitorsite.com" in Google. Some of these might have a directory or a link exchange. Exchange links with them. 3. One a similar note, search for "Shoes directory", "Shoes links" and you might find some free directories in Google to submit to. I personally feel that it is quite important to exchange links with sites that have a similar content, 'cos even if you don't get any PR benefit you can always gain from the qualified traffic from these sites. Good luck with the website!
It depends on the following: 1. The Links you have (How many and what PR) 2. When Google updates PR So, presuming that you have enough links to take you to a PR4, all you have to do is for Google to cache these pages containing the links and then update the PR. Also, the number of links you need can vary depending on the kind of links you have. Even one PR5 or higher link can take you to PR4. Bobmutch has done heaps of research on this kind of stuff and if he's lurking around here, he can probably shed some light on the approximate number of links needed. But, I think it's something like this (for PR4): 1 PR5 link or 20 - 30 PR4 links or A few hundred PR3 links and so on Also, it's better to get a link on a page that doesn't have a lot of outgoing links, because remember that the PR from that links page will get distributed and the more the links, the smaller your share. Hope this helps! dfsweb
