This is considered a big no no with bidding directories. Your basically altering the listings and bids. So now anybody after the initial 10 has to pay double to achieve the same effect.

I would submit if this was normal, but not because you are altering and changing bids.

God you guy's complain too much its a FREE way of getting higher ranking, What's wrong with that? Most people would be happy to get their money doubled, if this is not your kind of thing I suggest you have too much money and should donate to me ;)

No, the point is you are listing false values of what people paid which makes people not trust you so we don't want to spend our money on your site.

Trust me, I used to own a bidding directory and never altered link prices and it was a success, the fact that two people have posted obviously means you are doing the wrong thing.

I guess you just don't get it. Sure it's free for the 1st 10 people but then you have this false ceiling of bids that everybody else now has too bid more to achieve the same effect. Most veteran bid directory owners will agree with us on this issue.

To be honest I really don't think a dollar free bid is going to matter, anyone who wants to actually rank in a directory will pay more than a dollar to rank higher.
And i'm not "altering" the bids, I am allowing people a FREE bid and DOUBLE BIDS for the month of august, I am not lowering peoples bid's etc... nobody is disadvantaged at all so it is totally fair.

I submitted www.premointer.com and placed a bid of $2 USD could not see that it was approved thats why I'm posting here.

    Please double my bid also.

    Thank you.

The just completely contradicted yourself. You said you don't alter bids, but then you just said you double or let people have free bids, which is altering bids.

It is totally unfair for anyone who bids after the first 10. I don't know if you have noticed, but it is 100% frowned upon by all serious people who submit to or own bidding directories.

Altering would be doing things like letting people pay me to make their bid huge and a competing bidders lower on purpose, false accusations like this and blowing things out of proportion is stupid, you are purposely trying to sabotage my thread to benefit yourself.

If you have nothing good to say, leave. This is a promotion for people who value the chance to succeed in the web industry and rank higher in my directory, it has been done many times before here on DP and on another directories so I really do not see any issue.

Altering is changing things, you can changing people's bids so that it is unfair for people who bid on your directory later.

It's not a false accusation. Firstly I am not accusing you of doing anything, you are altering bids, it is a fact, I am not accusing you of it, I am advising you why it is bad.

I am trying to give you tips, and how does this benefit me at all? I used to own a bidding directory, before I got out of that market, and I know that altering bids is bad for your dir. I am not benefiting at all for posting this, so I am not sure what your on about.

I have only been saying good, helpful things.

Trust me, it is possible to succeed in the web industry without submitting to your bidding directory ;)

Yes, but have you noticed that does directories have closed, been sold for under a months revenue or are getting no new bids.
I know, I do and I am just giving you advice on how to set up a trusted bidding directory that more than 10 people will submit to.
