PR0 to PR2 in 2 Months? These Are My Site Stats But I'm In Doubt.

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by George Sotello, Jun 7, 2009.

My website www.freelookupdirectory.com is only 2 months old and it is now a PR2.

I can't understand why and I'm hoping that someone who is more familiar with this realm of knowledge can help me out here. It doesn't seem to follow the natural Page Rank accumulation.

    I don't have that many uniques per month...around 1500.

I don't know why it is PR2 and I don't see why it should be...since it's only 2 months old. Seems like a fluke, fake or bug.

    Any suggestions, comments, experiences?

    Thanks

I have a blog that I launched on March 1, so about 3 months ago and it is now PR3. I don't think it's that unusual.

PR is not related to traffic. It is related to links pointing to your site. You have enough links to get a PR 2.

My site is 2.5 months old and PR2 so its probably not that unusual. Its strange I have the same amount of links but the PR just went up to 2 from 1. Duration must be a factor I think.

Google change the way they apply PR all the time, so the factors that got you a PR2 would now be changed to a PR1.

the Google Agg change all the time, it's normal that the PR results get hard to understand sometime.

PR seems more random than any before. As far as i am concerned, i dont see any logical connction between PR and traffic or even power of links that indicate to you site.

It's worth taking a look at your backlinks through Google Webmaster Tools. There's a handy firefox addon (http://yoast.com/tools/seo/link-analysis/) that shows you the page rank and anchor links of links pointing to your site within Webmaster Tools.

This should shed some light on your new found PR2 success!

Google always bring changes to its algorithm..no need to worry bro...even my website got the same result. Its 2months old, it has PR 2 and same no. of back links as your website. What i can suggest is do not do excess of link building stuff which may seem UN-natural to Google.

Pr is a waste of time
    Rankings (serps position counts only)
Higher PR doesn't mean higher traffic or higher rankings ....

Well you have 185 backlinks and a bunch from Ezine Articles which certainly is enough to get a PR of 2. No big woop though sorry!

I have 1 month old site with PR 5. I doubt that too.
By the way, I do concern more with the traffic which didn't increase much after got PR5 since May 28.
I still don't know why I should be happy with PR5 because I don't have idea to sell any links..

You should be happy with a PR5 site because it gives your site the authority it needs to be visible for searches you optimize for...
