I have seen PR's of several sites jumping all over the place over the last few days. One site went from PR4 to PR3 to PR0 back to PR3 in a matter of 5 days.

It seems that many many websites got their PR decreased.

Most owners here had their website's in many directories, that being the initial PR's value.

Maybe with this update, the value of those directory links got decreased, and what we all feared it would happen, happened.

Directory links are getting so much less value. :)

    Just a personal guess though.

so.... then which links do get value?
Only authority links? Or it's not about links any more at all..?

did you look at the mirror lately? :)

I want to tell my story here and tell me what you think..
One of my sites, that I was building lots of links for, www.hyipbest.com is only pr2 now. It has quite a lot of pr5 and pr4 links, I've submitted articles, submitted it to directories, exchanged and bough links.. etc.. well it helped me achieve the traffic I wanted, but pr2..? (and it's showing pr6 in iwebtool prediction tool)
Also the funny thing is all the other pages of the site are pr3..
What I mean is maybe google has some penalty now, which I actually received, by trying to get too many links, or may be it's just the opposite now, like the less links you have, the higher your pr will be..?

*note to myself, need to test the last option*

I haven't seen any evidence that directories are getting less credit in Google. I have seen them get a lot more credit in Yahoo and MSN though.

Yeah, i guess you're right. Let me refrase that one :

Is it a bedtime story ? Otherwise i'm too boored to listen to it. :p

I am sure that you had other links to other pages too, except the index, and with the help of the internal pr flow, whose pages got higher PR.

It could be possible, but the penalty for that is not lower PR. Anyway, i REALLY don't think that a penalty (the one you mentioned though) is the case here.

C'mon man. Are you listening to yourself ? :)

I knew it! You know, you really look good for a seo expert, I mean if I were a woman I'd say you're handsome ;)

Yeah, it's deep night here and I have no idea what the heck i'm talking about, so don't pay attention.. and don't quote me on this DON'T QUOTE ME!!!

actually no, I didn't have too many links to other pages, except that they all were interlinked one with another.. but may be some random links from people who loved how I placed adsense on my site lol

gotta go to sleap now.. :p
