Check this out PR0 niche dir was sold in sitepoint. http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/33709 This just proves that you can still do well in the directory business. What do you think?
Absolutely, if the directory is decent it will sell or make money, regardless of pr, its a nice looking one, good for the owner.
Wow.... that is a very nice niche to have, and the way its set up is great If you ask me $400 was a steal ... Some Attorney's will pay upwards of $100 "per click"... so to ask a small review fee would be fine for this niche thx malcolm
That was Serg's directory that he announced on DP a few months ago. Hes got a proper job as a web designer now so probably doesn't have time for it. More proof that niche directories are in demand and worth the money.
Huh? I didn't understand that....or do you mean you have to be stupid to pay a stupid price??? please explain
Just PR is not a guide to decide price. Look at quality, content, traffic, design, revenue etc.. Congrats to the seller.
It proves nothing of the sort. That site was worth far more than $400 for the domain name and work the guy put in alone. I'd be devastated if I put a years hard work and design in to just get $400. Forget PR that counts for nothing in directories these days, what this example proved is how to lose money.
If it has decent SERP, it's worth $400 for sure. So PR is one of factors, but not key factor. Congrats to the seller.
Yeah, that was a premium domain. he could have easily got high $xxx for the domain and premium design.
Hard work no doubt, but a year's hard work looks a bit strange! # Established: Sun Jan 13 2008 That's 3+ months, i guess! Loose money? # Monthly Revenue: 0 Humm.... how can someone loose money, when the directory makes 0 revenue! # Uniques/Month: 300 - means 10 uniques a day! $400 is actually a good price, the potential is there for sure!
Just shows how naive we can all be. I'm signing up at that forum because I for one would have given him $$$ for it as I'm a Lawyer myself. (Fingers crossed)
