    Yes, age has everything to do with it. If your site is a least 4 months old, you should start to see some sort of PR, at least better than 0. Then it will be easier to find link partners.

    I think if you appeal to people that your website is going to with the quality of content on there, it shouldn't be a problem.

    The main factor for PR to improve is having good back links . It takes google time to update the PR , so have to wait for that .Are u talking abt having 2000 backlinks , when was ur site indexed last by google .Just give ur URL , may give u some suggestions..
