PR without hosting a site

    Is it possible to get a PR for a domain,without hosting the site.Suppose I bought a domain & immediately I started link building for it from high PR dofollow pages.Will it get PR ?

    Yes it is possible, but what's the point of building backlinks just to get high PR value for the domain name when you can actually do the same thing for your established sites?
