Well we launched a really cool site (in my oppinion) and started down the path of trying to get some PR going...... So we waited... and waited... and tried to participate in some communities.. and waited. We blogged and blogged.. and waited and.... ..still nothing... Any sugestions on how we can improve our site, attract visitors, or even google ? www. imintrouble .ca PS: comments suggestions or ideas on building Backlinks would be greatly appreciated.
I just had a very quick look at the site and went to, for instance, the "Stunt Driving" page. I found a fairly short description (keep an eye on that, Google Webmaster Tools might flag that up as a "short meta description"), no h1 tag for the page and it was difficult getting back to your homepage (the header didn't link back to your home URL and there's no "HOME" link in your Menu) Hope that helps
ive collected some of your site stats, maybe this helps Here are some of your site stats: Google Pagerank: 0 Alexa Rank: 7083314 Technorati Rank: 0 Listed in Digg: 5 DMOZ: Not Listed Link Popularity Google Backlinks: 1 Yahoo Inlinks: 2 Altavista Links: 2 AllTheWeb Links: 2 .gov backlinks: 0 .edu backlinks: 0 Pages Indexed Google Indexed: 386 Yahoo Indexed: 25 MSN Indexed: 4
How did you build your links? be aware with sites that have "nofollow" attributes in the source code for your links might not be counted. You also needs to work on creating contents.
Back links and regular updates are the key for getting pr. Don't loose hope and keep working on it until the next update. One of my blogs don't got a pr and it is already 4 months old.
Yeah, you should try link building on forums and blogs. Try to exchange links with some other site, that could help you a lot. Also submit your site on some wb directories, it can hurt. And write articles and submit them to article directories (you get backlinks from it too). Hope I helped.
i did try digg, sadly i no one digs them prime example: http://www.imintrouble.ca/blog/index.php/2009/01/06/stunt_driving_law_and_what-_it_means
I agree, cool site. My suggestion would be some non-internet promotion. I would look at doing some press releases or try to get some free press from media. This will help in increasing traffic to the site. Maybe consider writing a special "article" to the National Post or pitch them a story about getting out of tickets. The kind of service you are offering is something that will get word of mouth easliy, you just need to get more notice. I am not sure the Digg audience is where you are looking...
I wanted to post a thread on this but after reaching this page I don't have to anymore. I got all my answers from this thread. Very helpful indeed.
