    Hello,

I recently launched a website (Project4Hire.com) about 3 weeks ago. The website still shows with a PageRank of 0. I think that my website deserves at least a PageRank of 2.
I would like to know how often does Google update PageRank and when can I expect the next update to be.

I have been told by a couple of people that it will be sometime this coming week, although I cant confirm it. I am hoping it is this week as well, as I launched a Nintendo Wii site this past week and would like too see how well we have done.

Always possible but not very likely - we just had a Toolbar PR update within the past few weeks.

If I understand well the PR of a site only changes a few times a year on the PR update of Goolge right ?

Does anyone know if those updates are scheduled ? do specific dates exist ?
    Thanks

They are about 4 times a year based on past experience. Nobody knows when they will be though.

    Hi Chios,

PR is updated daily. New links are factored into the equation and they are applied to a page's PR. Its just that we could not see it... until Google does its next public PR update.

Matt Cutts, from Google has mentioned that the Toolbar PageRank is republished about once every 3 months. The next update should be in Jun or July :)

Yes but wasnt' there are an update at the end of February and then the beginning of April ? It seems like updates are becoming a monthly thing rather then quarterly...

    Listen closely, please:

Google updates public PR when it feels like it. On average, that is probably 3-4 times per year but that neither guarantees there will be that many nor limits Google to only that many. After Big Daddy, Google felt like doing another update so they did.

And now for something completely different:

NameWolf, could your signature be any more blaringly glaringly blindingly tacky?

I was thinking of doing that to my sig file...
Just to make it stand out more and hopefully get more clicks.

Those who worry about pr, when the next update is, etc have too much time on their hands...imho

You won't get more clicks. You'll just get more people saying "Ye gads, that's one helluva tacky looking sig! Ewww!!" and hitting "Back".

I have taken to saving this response to be copied and pasted a few times a month. ;)

Matt Cutts provides an excellent explanation about updates that may help you.

I also have that article saved, Cricket, even in BBcode format for easy cut-and-paste... I must have it posted at this forum a half-dozen times at least.

Nothing can stop the "when's the next Google update?" threads. Nothing, I tells you.

    roflmao!

Maybe we need a sticky of frequently asked Google questions.

Of course that would only lead to copying and pasting the link to the faq sticky post. :D

Kudos, Minstrel. That is the most finely crafted run-on sentence I've ever read. I had to read it again to make sure there were no lapses in subject...predicate... etc. Well done! These PR threads need a little humor.

I laughed so hard I tried to give him some green rep, but it says I have to spread it around more first!

No, it happens more frequently than that.
