PR updated, how is your performance in your directories?

Maybe PR is not that important, but still there is some interest among customers.

For me, this update is not too bad..Some gain, some loss.

I just dropped a Dir into an existing site a few months ago so now it has a few hundred out bound links.

The sites main page stayed the same(which is good I was worried with all the outbound links) and some of the internal pages lost and gained some, so about the same.

Edit - I think I lost some PR it is fluctuating from 3-2 oh well./

I've noticed that many directories previously had PR 6-8 - now have much lower.
This confirms that the artificially PRs do not live long.

I have a directory and it has just lost 1 green pixel. It was 3 and now it is 2.

Overall, I can see the people that put a lot into their sites got more out of them. Directories that have internal pages that are interesting, in a niche, and well edited, have more pagerank on their internal pages. Directories that were clearly purchasing pagerank didn't necessarily get penalized but saw their pagerank decline by at least a couple of points. Overall, I haven't seen any thing of great significance yet. It's more just minor changes (but a large update nonetheless). More than ever, you have to build a site people love. People should have a reason to visit your site. It should be useful, engaging or worthwhile. Then everything else follows from there.

This update has not been a bad one for any of my web directories.

I have only recently restarted promoting them again and all of them remained the same PR.

My broken directory that I have just recently got back online jump from pr1 too pr3 and its not setup yet.

So I’m happy that none have dropped.

    Thanks Brian

I am almost done updating the PR on my list of 19,000 directories. From what I have seen so far it looks good for directories. There are some that have gone up, some have gone down and many have stayed the same. Of course, you should expect that the sites using dropped domains would drop.

Cant complain about the home page, although not as expected as far as categories go.
Just made all categories side-wide couple of weeks ago, should help spread the PR love around I hope.

My two niche directories continue with PR of 3.

The general directory also remains at PR2.

No loss for me just one gain. One directory PR2 -> PR3 :)

Rest PR3 and PR2 remains the same :)

It's so funny. Everyone said they have seen some PR changes but none of my websites have had any change. Maybe I am the black sheep?

Directories cannot maintain a high PR normally. Because There are a lot of links to new sites. These links to new sites become the reason of PR damage.

You do understand that PR is dependent on inbound rather than outbound links, correct?

It also depends upon the outbound links, and these are the outbound links that dilutes the PR Value of a web page.

A page's PageRank is not reduced because of outbound links.
