My understanding was that a new PR update takes place between once a month or every two months. But you guys seem to know specific details. I would appreciate if you could share that with all of us. ;)

    Many thanks

From results that I see, the Google backlinks are starting to show (McDar datacenter as well as regular G search). Yes, I understand the PR updates show up sometime after but, I don't think we can pinpoint to the minute. (e.g. someone is trying to pull someone legs ;)).

well starting to see movement on the keyword tracker as far as backlinks goes but not PR. Odd thing is that one of my pages has droped to only one backlink (from 50) and i know that is not correct  yet another page had gone from 4 to 235 BL's

No doubt it will be up and down for the rest of the day.

I noticed on one of the other threads, as well as doing a bit of investigation of my own, it looks like G is lessening the number of "shown" backlinks from links and resources pages. This may have some impact on the number of links that were previously displayed versus now.

for most of us, "new" backlinks are NOT showing yet.

they're old pages- not new ones- that just started to get shown in the "random sampling" google provides.

I don't think this was a BL update at all, really: more of just an algo change.

It's too soon to tell for certain, but at this point I agree with you.

AllTheWeb and AltaVista made similar changes recently.

You're right disgust - I was certainly getting confused by the number of low PR pages appearing and other pages disappearing but I can confirm that none of my site pages listed that should have been in this time around.

well i am totally confused

my site map that went up on the 1st of july is showing no backlinks. I am not showing backlinks from several of my sub section index pages that have been there as long as the site has. 3 PR5 / 6 back links are not showing but are still current (been there for over 3 months) yet many pr1 and pr0 links are showing.

some pages have even droped to zero backlinks showing, yet others jumped 300% +

If it stays the way it is then the numbers from google are usless to me now.

    PR update has started!

I added some new links pages called res.asp, res2.asp and res3.asp to replace the links.asp pages which are subject to a lot of speculative rumors. I checked just now and they've turned up with a PR6!!!

The time right now is 20:36 EST

No PR changes here, but total devastation on BLs under the toolbar. Almost all of my BLs are super stable natural links. Weird. Either Google has blown this update or something is dramatically different as to how BLs are being treated/counted.
