I'd call this discounting backlinks falling in some criteria .. may be obviously looking paid links according to Google?

My site is still the same, maybe because I've never had paid links. Waiting for it to go up (hopefully)

i have read it somewhere that when PR update begins to happen, all PR first go down and the next day, start going up, even my pr2 website and PR0 website have lost their PR, and PR checkers on the net aren't workin properly,; i think the day we have all been waiting for has arived, everyone gd luck with your PR's :D

Surely its not a PR dance

For me, its some real big changes in the Big G's PR calculation algorithm thats all causing all this havoc.....

Yep we should change name from pr update to pr downgrade :)
But one thing which i dont understood in this period from april was only several downgrades.I mean from pr10 to pr9 to pr8 to pr6 and next...
I was excepting phpbb will lose their rank, but to pr6 that is realy suprise to me.

I think it's because phpBB is an open source project, it's not likely they would buy links. This proves my point of view even more: sites lose PR because of the latest algorithm to devalue purchased links.

it could be considered as dance if google gave them a 0 and then give them the same PR as i see it they aint getting they are PR back.

As i see it directories where probably had all the same high backlinks and by devaluate that high sites it took them all down since i dont think that they are so many PR8-PR10 that you can hide your links without google notice...

What is interesting is that most of the posts are about drop in PR. I am yet to hear if anyone is seeing any PR on pages that were created after the last PR update. So it does not seem that it is a PR update; just a status change for some.

I had one site go from 4 to 2 and a blog from 5 to 3 - its the update as far as I know... both sites of course over the last few months have been growing and have had a tons of new links from all over.

My other sites haven't seen the update yet..
