    Hey there,

I want somebody to tell me if this is possible..

What would happen if I purchased 5 different domains that had a high PR rating and used a 301 transfer to my own site?

Does PR drop to 0 when the domain owner or registar changes?

I was considering buying out some domains related to freelance programming and transferring PR to my domain.

What are your thoughts on this?

Any expert advise will be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

Nopes! PR doesnt drop to 0 when the owner changes as it mainly depends on backlinks.

    Hey there,

Can you be penalized for doing this?

People could make a page seem more important than it really is by doing this?

Although I guess people buy their primary domain this way.

In my opinion, pr should drop to 0 when owner changes.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

Nope, PR won't change to 0 when owner changes. It's a fact for us to manipulate. :D LOL

PR will drop when the backlinks to your domain start disappearing. Until then - enjoy.

    Hey there,

    You know what..

That may explain why websites have a high PR with hardly any backlinks.

    Very interesting.

    Thanks for the help.

    Sincerely,
