PR switched from www.domain.com to domain.com

Hi,
Someone I know, recently had the PR on their www.domain.com page drop to 0. And now the http://domain.com now has all the PR.
Can anyone give me any idea what happend and how to fix it?

The domain is http://www.theJump.net/ PR 0
http://theJump.net/ PR 3

Tell him to do a permanent redirect from thejump.net to www.thejump.net and the problem will be fixed.

 

Be sure to do a 301 redirect so that all of your PR juice gets transferred accordingly. Also be sure to link to the URL you want the PR to go to.

BTW, I noticed that in the Google Sitemaps area, there is an option to tell google to use www. or just your domain name. I'm not sure if this works for PR though.

someone tried to do the above and mixed up targets in the .htaccess

I wrecommend you to sign up for Google Sitemaps and select www.theJump.net as the preferred domain.
