Hi guys, I started my blog in 2007 and reached PR4 in early 2008. Then I wrote some paid product review. One week later my PR got slashed to 0 and I immediately removed the review and all other hints, that associates me with that review site. However my PR still remains at 0 until today. While my traffic never got hit, it actually increased further over time, the PR0 is a serious problem for selling advertisement spots on my blog. I also have another blog with a different domain name on the same IP which also got slashed from PR2 to PR0 at the same moment. Until today it also remains PR0, although I never posted any paid review on this domain at any time. Should I switch my provider and start a new blog there? Can I send an email to google? (or will they just punish me further?) I want to sell some adspace, however no one is interested in PR0...
I don't understand why you'd get dropped from PR 4 to 0 from having a paid review on your site. Very odd.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something - if you didn't lose your ranking in the SERPs but your PR was effected - but didn't effect your traffic...I really don't think your PR matters.
mybe google penalize your website...do you sell a link? some rumor google don't like paid review to...
as I said, I had a paid review. After the drop I immediately removed it and since then I only have google adsense and recently I added infolinks. Nothing else at all.
It matters in the way, that I can't sell backlinks here on the digitalpoint forums, because no one wants to buy PR0. But traffic remains stable, that is all fine.
Since your traffic went up but PR still 0 why do you care about PR? I see your point about advertisers as if you claim your site is reputable I'd expect you to have PR3+ so I'd be a bit put off from advertising. But if you bring good traffic for your advertisers I doubt they'll care about PR.
I know there is a way to get reconsideration when you get sandboxed. Not sure if I've heard of reconsideration for page rank slashing though.
