You know that "wish I'd never asked" feeling ? OK so in a nutshell, keep submitting as the PR could be better than I think or it is likely to be in the future. basically, any link is beneficial and has the potential to be better than I think either now or in time. I just hope I'm not competing with you guys to get my searches up the rankings! Thanks all,
You're welcome Steve. Keep this in mind. PR will not get you upper in results. PR is good for marketing purposes only (link sell, link exchange etc.). What will get you up is IBL's to you Index , and to your pages, as well as good quality content, and in-page optimization.
Depends on many factors. If we look at the classic PageRank (the toolbar PageRank), having more pages will not necessarily mean higher PR. The PR weight of a site (a very general description) is the sum of the internal PR (number of pages) plus the sum of the PR of the incoming links minus the outgoing PR (outlinks). So... if your site has zero external weight (PR from other sites), adding pages adds to the total PR of the site, will increase the PR of the most internally linked pages and have a negligible effect on the other pages. If most of your PR comes from external links, having more pages will actually decrease the PR of most pages by diluting the external PageRank. Got it? Note: everything I wrote is about the toolbar PR.
Thanks guys, I think I have got my head round it a bit more now Although now I think I need to find out more about general page optimising, I think that could be my (very) weak point! I'll have a read up about that a bit and have a go before I start asking questions about it, all I know so far is to make sure my meta tags are complete.
