PR question

I make themes and I place my copyright link in every themes footer back to http://audentio.com (my website). I have even googled it myself and know there are around 75 people who I can tell that have my link in their footer. So, these are considered link backs, right? SO why am I only PR1?

Well, first because it is early yet and PR has not update. Second, what PR the sites of the 75 people have? They probably have PR0 most bloggers that download new themes have PR0 as they have just started blogging. So wait a bit, and you will notice the changes within the next PR update.

 

Yes as Trapped has said is true, most of the sites are most likely PR0. Also, 75 links is not much, you need a lot more than that to achieve a high PR. I had 1200 before I reached PR3 so keep working on building other links.

Why bother so muth with it ?

 

People wont link my themes if Im at PR1 , even if the themes are of okay standard or above. So I just have to wait four months for the update?

 

I've heard that a pr update is currently overdue. It could be updated anyday now.

 

PR is a rather worthless gauge when it comes to keyword search rankings. I have seen many No. 1 google ranking results have a PR0.

As to your question, PR is not completed evaluated based on the number of backlinks. The quality of the backlinks has a lot to do with your actual PR value. Not all links are the same. Some links can carry much more weight than others.

 

all of backlink to your site get PR 0,1,2.That is reason your PR is 1.
To improve you much exchange link with high PR (4,5,6).This way will help you get more position.

 

Yes, they will have effect.
Your PR is still 1 because:
* PR hasn't updated yet - it does it every 3 months (and is doing it at the end of this month) so you wont see results 'till then.
* The sites could have a bad PR (such as 0) and therefore they will still count as backlinks, but wont be as valuable to your site and therefore not affect your pagerank as much.

All the places Ive checked say they estimate I will have zero pagerank even though I got around 1000 backlinks per search engine (I think thats bad...)

 

probably because all those 1000 links have PR 0 or 1. i think you should consider putting links on high PR site. just invest some money and you will get better PR ^^

Are directories even worth the trouble? I downloaded some software where it makes it easy to do all this stuff a bit quicker when it comes to submitting links. Is it worth my time?

 

you can be a rang a p5 and a pr 1 could get more traffic.
