PR question

    Is there any value for a link that is coming from a PR6 (very big authority site) page that has 700 outgoing links ?

    I'm not totally sure - does the large amount of outgoing links water down the high PR? - I've read that around 5 outgoing links is best more than this then I think there is a lesser effect.

    But the effect will still be positive? I think.

    PR that passes is divided between the number of outgoing links - so 700 links on one page is going to pass a very small amount of PR.

    A link from PR6 or any above than PR6 is obviously has a great value. However if there are too many outgoing links on this site, then you might not get the proper link juice which you are looking for as it will be diluted and the value will be divided into all those links. If you are looking for getting links on PR6 and above sites, try to get onb those sites who have very few outgoing links ;)

    700 links!! Is that a link farm page or something? lol

    I would avoid this kind of page like a plaque. Not because of its little value but because it has a most negative value instead. You should be aware of this - One page should not have more than 100 links as Google have suggested it for a long time ago. However, I think more than 50 links per page is something crazy already. What do you think that 700 links page looked like for Google? If you were Google, wouldn't you think it does look suspicious?

    Google isn't going to penalize a site for a link a website has no control over. If they did, I would add my competitors websites to get them booted - and a single link isn't going to do any harm (not that this link will do much good).

    I think value of this type of link is negligible. 700 outbound links are much more.

    700 is a lot of outbound links on one page but it will pass PageRank, but not as much when there are just 10 links in a blogroll. Did you already check the inbound vs outbound link ratio?

    Probably not good value as the PR of the site whilst high will be shared between those 700 outgoing links
