If I were you, I would looking towards the serp position. PR 4 from within the same niche can often make a lot of difference.
yeah thats what im hoping for. im currently focusing on building content even more, but also want to get a handful of pr3+ backlinks if that will help it in the search results this blog of mine currently has about 70 posts, and i hope to be to 200 by the end of the summer. they are all pretty good on content, quality, keywords, etc. one thing that i just noticed after adding more content for specific keywords is that there are many keywords where i rank in the top of google...except i show up as often the 11th to 20th result...so right before the first page! what do you think would be more effective? adding more content for these keywords or seo for them (i.e. more backlinks with those keywords as the anchor text)
I agree, I have no page rank and not even in dmoz yet (not that it matters much anymore) - But I am on 1st/2nd and so on in all search engines with pretty competitive keywords, like social networking micro blog, sms micro blog, micro blog - We've only been live for a little over a month now.... It's all about content, description with keywords but not over doing it. At least that's what has worked for me. And of course good backlinks from reputable sites... Also, if you can break news, press release, publish a blog that others link too, RSS feeds (this works really good if you can get links)... etc.
