In order for a site to be classified as a certain PR do all the pages of the site have to be that PR (or higher) or is it only necessary for the hompage to be that PR?

If linking strategy is just focused on the home page, that will not help you lot, You will need backlinks to your inner pages too for good ranking.

Main page is enough, but having a good PR on the subs is also good.

PR is independent entity, thus a site could have pages ranking from PR 10 to PR 0 .. each page has unique PR based on backlinks, relevance etc...

pubdomainshost is right - sites don't have PageRank, pages do.

PR depends on the number and quality of pages. So if you build backlinks for only the home page, then it will have the highest PR. If you build backlinks for internal page, then may be that page will have a PR higher than the home page.

If you only Build backlinks for the home page, then internal pages will still get some PR.

PR quality base on the relevance link to the each of page. But usually, homepage is the main targeting to get high PR.

    Nope.. Its not necessary.
Actually, PR depends on the incoming links to that page and it may vary.

Not really necessary, if you want to have PR all you need to do is gather links from high PR backlinks

The answer is NO. you get PR if you do have enough PR juice.
You homepage might have PR even all your inner page PR = N/A

So if someone was to sell sitewide links from a site that has a PR3 homepage but all other pages are either 0 or N/A then that person could advertise it as a 'PR3 Site' selling PR3 links (considering the links are sidewide)?
