Just came across this today: http://www.prprowler.com/ What are your thoughts? Looks questionable to me.
I read just over half of it... Doesn't PROG - http://www.webmasterbrain.com/prog/ - do the same (albeit more manually yet still more automated than G) ?
I'm guessing that prog pulls the data from the google directory- which is always out of date- instead of actually making a query for each page's PR, since this would probably cause some sort of problem... I could be wrong though.
They are making queries for the actual PageRank. Otherwise it wouldn't work on pages that were not in the directory.
So has anyone actually tried PR Prowler? Seems like if it can give me keyword relevant sites with high PR that do reciprocal linking for $97 that it's a bargain. Has a 90-day money-back guarantee. If no one else has tried it, I'll be glad to be the guinea pig and report back.
Hey Nehurd, If you would like to save $97., (1).Do a search for your keyword. (2) Go to Prog and type in - Link:www.firstcompetitor.com This will give you the link pages of all the sites (Google is reporting) that link to your competitor plus the PR of those link pages. Remember, it is the PR of the page with the link on it that is important. Repeat the process searching for link partners of the top ten or more for your keywords.
My thoughts exactly! And this only counts if PROG / G return relevant results in the first place ofcourse... Something which a lot of people doubt recently. But more importantly, McDar's suggestion gives you a list you can browse by PR showing sites who are already willing to link to your competitor so there should be little reason to not link to you too.
We have PR Prowler version 3, and I don't like the interface but it does a lot of work for you and it is definitely a helper in finding backlinks.
