ok over the last week its been pr crazy , and i have been addicted to all the threads about pr along with lots of other members but there are lots of other members out there that say pr does not matter to them, and serps rule there are countless threads buzzing with activity for both pr lovers and serp lovers , so would everyone like to vote on what they think counts . 1. pagerank 2. serps 3. other so please vote cheers karl
if i have a directory then Page Rank is the King If i have a content oriented site, then SERPs is the King... Because i have both, so i prefer both PR and Serps
If your aim is to sell links then PR is all that matters. If you actually have a legit business, blog, resource site whatever it may be... then SERPS is what matters. PR is overrated! yearrgh enough of it already.
I think in some ways they go hand in hand, but mostly I prefer serps. Being #1 in Google is better for content sites, I totally agree.
But I would say none of them is useful (SERPS OR PR) I would go with traffic That is traffic really matters for a website
ok i cant add another poll option for traffic or anything else , so if you just vote for other that would be great
Of course content is necessary. But content, when your site is unknown is not enough. Thus, you look for links and if possible relevant ones. Where to find relevant links ? With sites which are in your niche. How to convince them to exchange links with you ? By telling to their webmasters that your PR is high enough to be of interest. Maybe in a few years or a few months that state of mind will have changed but right now it's not. There is of course the directories solution. they are certainly very usefull but probably less relevant than well made sites. Due to what I think, you understand it's a little bit difficult to select an option in that pole. Could you install a fourth option ? something like SERP+ PR
sorry i have tried and cant do it , i even pm,ed crazy rob to see if he could do it for me but he can not , he says only shawn can change poll's , maybe have to wait until shawn has some time to change it for me
Higher PR means you can sell your links for more money. Strong SERPs mean that you will get more customers. I vote for SERP.
SERPS rocks in both cases either you want to sell links or you want visitors.. because if your site have better SERPs then your link price can be higher even if you have low PR... but PR also have its own value in this game
I voted for SERPs, For commercial sites good SERPs ensure steady flow of traffic to a site, high PR is on the other hand is good for selling links on websotes or for directories.
traffic (serps or otherwise) > more links to your site > higher PR. These things aren't that clearly separated.
