Relevant link is the key for SERPs. Also getting links from old well established websites that relevant content would be helpful.
Serps is most important Pr is bragging rights. If site has pr 3 and is listed better than pr 5 site for terms i want the pr 3 site
i mainly link to my site with anchor text=my name as its mainly blog post. 100% of the links to my site come from sites that are not relevant at all. yet income continues to grow on a daily basis. To me PR does matter more then anything, i sell no links and have no plans on ever selling any. More pr= more indexed pages, i dont even care about serps as that goes up with pr not the other way around. 3 month old site has 80k indexed pages and more everyday.
I just love all the theories going around about PR Backlinks and all the rest of it. So I would just like to tell you about one of my websites that made Page one on Google, Page two on MSN and Yahoo for a very competitive keyword "Antiscam" without any PR or Backlinks ! I ran an Antiscam website for several months covering things like the Russian bride, Nigerian scammers, Online scams etc. etc. I didn't have any backlinks or PR, I started the site from nothing and yet reached the first and second pages of the three major search engines. I didn't know about PR or backlinks and never thought too much about them. When I first made the site I submitted a site map to Google and Yahoo and then concentrated on content. I am convinced it was the way I SEO'd the site, Keyword density, Keywords in body text, Alt tags, plenty of good content that got me those results. It's only my opinion but forget PR and stop chasing that PR rainbow, it means nothing, if you have a good site with plenty of interesting, informative content you will make it. I stopped thinking PR long ago. dalem
Nice story..... Here is how to tell if PR is important. Go to the bank and sit down with the branch manager...explain your site has PageRank whatever and that as such you need a loan so you can make your site PR even better....... When the banker looks at you with a blank stare and the word no forming on his lips.... you will instantly learn that PR only matters to people who like warm fuzzy feelings one can get from a green ingot image that is not factual...... I am thinking I should start a website for PR junkies where they can be rehabilitated into earning revenues without fanatical obsession over an imaginary rating scale......... www.pranon.com????
I have not looked at pagerank for about 5 months now, it stopped concerning me, I rather concentrate on traffic .
No it is not. There was update today and all my sites went up but they still have same search results.
basically PR means nothing. as told by the creator of Google Webmaster Central interview in webmaster radio
To me PR is fairly important as many webmasters regard PR as the only factor in link exchanging, and when trying to boost my SERPs link exchanges are key so it all comes back to the pesky PR in the end Saying that I cant remember the last time I bothered to gain a new link exchange deanfromfrog
