PR n/a?

    It's been up for 2 or 3 weeks now.
    I have backlinks from sites which are big, and some which are smaller.
    I've submitted it to search engines, it's been accepted.

    What possible reasons are there for it still being n/a?

    Or am I checking the PR the wrong way? I just typed into google "google pr checker" and clicked one of the links. Whats the proper way to check it?

    That's because Google hasn't updated PR yet. They usually update it every 3-4 months.
