Sites with high PR are usually established sites, and links from them will help get your site indexed quicker if needed and help raise your PR. It doesn't guarantee that you will get more traffic. If you want to make a little more advertising money, people will often purchase advertisement on your site if it has a high PR.
get higher pr sites to link to you. go to the link sale forum. you can find some people selling links for under 10 bucks.
You are going to need more than that to gain some PR. If you get a few PR5 links you might get a PR3 after an update. Yes, go to Business > Buy, Sell, or Trade > Link Exchange. Also Darkon, this thread should not be posted in Google, Adsense area.
One of my sites has a PR5 pointing to it....I do get some spidering, but not a lot of effect yet. How often is there a PR update
Hi All, PR realy does not have the same effect as it did 2 or 3 years ago. The PR you see in your google toolbar is usually 3 to 4 months out of date. Also, Google even says that the toolbar PR is for entertainment purposes mostly at this point. Dont really worry about PR - Go out and get themed one way links. Stay away from most link exchanges and offtopic links. If you do this then your website will have a better chance of ranking for the longterm.
Acquiring links from a high pr website can have a huge affect or no affect on your website depending on the details involved in how the link was obtained and how this website relates to yours. As an example... if I had a real estate website I would perform a search for "real estate" on my favorite engine. This particular search yields the result "reals.com" a directory of real estate resources with a page rank of 7 for the homepage. The domain is several years old and well established as a trusted resource in the real estate industry. You can bet a link from their homepage to your real estate website is going to bring a nice boost both to your rankings and site traffic. If you found a pr 6 website about fishing lures and they placed a link on your homepage it would (and should) not bring as much weight to your site as the link from reals.com. Link to and link with sites in your industry... remember, pr is an indicator of the number and quality of the backlinks to a website only. The key is to understand what industry the site you are evaluating is in and then decide whether a link exchange /partnership makes sense before soliciting them... linking for page rank alone is not a good idea... but finding high ranking sites in your industry and getting links from them is.
