PR links, does content matter?

If I have a gaming website.

Would it be alot better if I purchased PR Links from another game site, compared to a gardening site?

Even if the other gaming site isn't related (Not the same game, system, ect) and has none of the keywords my site is gearing towards?

The more related the other site is to yours, the better the link

 

Ok, but does it matter that much?
If it costs $50 for a gardening link, and $80 for a gaming link - would it be worth it?

 

1. In reality it doesn't matter that much at all. If it's a gaming to gaming website it's perfect. Google isn't that advance to pin point content that well. But you should get related links your website because you will gain quality traffic too.

 

Ok, what about loosely related links?

We are in web / software / ebusiness application development. We are soliciting links from telecommunications firms, and in particular mobile phone "garnish" providers - phones use Java games and we write Java...

This is mainly because of the sheer volume of traffic that these sites get.

Will this harm our ranking? (It's unlikely to harm our traffic throughput).

 

It doesnt matter as much as what type of site it is as what it says in the link text

 

It wont harm your ranking, your finding themed links and thats great as it will get you back the traffic you are looking for.
