A lot of people have been posting their accomplishments for G keyword ranking. And others have asked if PR has anything to do with G ranking? I don't have the answer, but here is something to add to the debacle: MyDeepLinks.com was launched only 24 days ago. We are PR 0, and have accumulated some backlinks. We have been promoting as much as we can (based on budget) so we expect alot more backlinks once search engines catch up. We are currently listed on Page 2/3 (out of 153,000,000) for Deep Links: http://www.google.com/search?q=deep+links&hl=en&start=10&sa=N We are currently listed on Page 3 (out of 2,590,000) for Deep Links Directory: http://www.google.com/search?q=deep+links+directory&hl=en&start=20&sa=N From this you can make your own conclusions???, but PR is obviously not the only factor that determines G search ranking. I am happy with the results so far......You have to start somewhere, right? I probably won't be there by the end of the day, oh well.
Yes it's true the PR has nothing due to with Google's ranking for lesser known keywords I have a page ranking no:1 for a keyword which is also the page's title!
yes, you are right in a sense. PR is not everything that G uses to determine your SERPs. But its is ONE of the factors considered. At only 24 days old, it is quite an accomplishment to get such good SERPs. Think the domain name has a large part to do with it as well. Congrats and good luck
The keyword Deep Links has been around for a looooooong time. It certainly didn't originate on DP, so you shouldn't call it lesser known in any sense. "Lesser Knowns" don't have 153,000,000 G results, but thanks for your input freewebspace.
True --PR does not matter when you have the keyword in your domain. Infact not only that -- PR will have no effect on search results if you use keyword's on your site-title too. Show your site's ranking for any other keyword and then I'll believe you. I can show you my forum ranking just bellow DP on 7th Position if I type the title. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=internet+and+webmasters+discussion+forum&btnG=Google+Search
Google keyword: Check indexed pages position in top 10 of 94,200,000 results url:www.livepr.info/indexedpages.php I am in top postion for one of the keywords for this site but I do n't like to reveal it! The site was launched less than a month ago!
I am not declaring anything. I am just throwing out a random thought of mine. I said you can make your own conclusions. There is nothing to believe. From the old commercial telling kids not to do drugs: This is your brain This is your brain on DP
Of course not the only factor. One of factors is FSB (Fresh Site Bonus) Check your results after next few months. I'm sure you will not be there where you are now.
Wordtracker shows a zero search volume for "deep links directory" and less than 1 search a month for the phrase "deep links". Not that Wordtracker is what I would base everything off of, but I've got to assume with those kind of stats very few have even considered optimizing for the two phrases.
I agree that G ranking does not depend upon PR.....nor vice versa But there is definitely some correlation between the two
Couldn't have said it better myself. Let us know if it still has this ranking in 3-4 weeks. If I had to bet, I would bet no. Happens to new sites all the time. Best of luck with your directory though... Morty
In all these posts , please remember that visible TBPR is not live and is almost certainly not equal to google internal PR computations, You've been promoting a lot, so, its possible that the actual internal PR of the homepage of your site is quite significant right now. As for the other factors affecting ranking, well, only google engineers know
Well the keyword "Deep Links Directory" has a competition of only 15,600. It should be relatively easy to be on the 1st page within 1 month or so.
And not many typing the keyword and searching All the search result web pages don't always mean that they are all competing, SEOing. Those results are simply indexed web pages in Google with the keyword "Deep Links Directory". In the same idea, whenever you include "Free" + "your keyword" you get tons of search results. Most likely, it's because of the general term, "Free". It's not that keyword combination is competitive Allinanchor: shows only 709 web pages are using the same keywords. So, it's not that competitive. Allintitle: is even lower.. 655
This will remain temporarily only.. Called FSB .. Then after you will be pushed to sandbox where you won't be there in millions of search results. Then there comes the role of PR.
