PR - Is it still important?

It's like asking 'Is attractiveness still important'.

Attractiveness is a shorthand way of saying how beautiful, tall, witty etc someone is.

PR is a shorthand way of saying how 'important' Google thinks a page is.

So the bozos up above saying 'PR isnt important' are like people saying 'attractiveness isnt important'.

So... would you rather be 'VERY attractive'? Or 'not attractive'.

Would you rather own a website with a PR 9 homepage? or a PR 0???

PR is important especially if you want to get backlinks.

 

Yes it is still important.. I have a website that has PR 5 and I've noticed that it when I rank a new keyword it will only take few days to show up on Google.

Yes still very important. The higher the PR of the page your link is on the better. It also pays to have your link from a high PR domain even when the actual page the link is on could be low or even zero PR

 

PR now is not that important as it was few years back in terms of SEO/SERP. It may be good to have high PR as it directly reflects the reputation and popularity of a site and help people in trusting a website.
